Kolkata, (The
States. news) A
12-page wall-hanging calendar paying homage to late Bollywood icon Dev Anand,
whose 100th birthday would be celebrated this year, has been released here.
The colourful calendar contains vintage booklet covers of the hit movies starring
the late genius, whose film career spanned six and half decades from 1946 to
2011.
Born on September 23, 1923,
Dev Anand died on December 3, 2011 – two months after the release of his last
film Chargesheet.
The calendar, christened “Evergreen Dev’, also
exhibits covers of long-play record albums of his movies, film stills as also
postal stamps on the actor-producer-scriptwriter brought out by the India Post.
With ‘Guide’ (1965) being one of Dev Anand’s classic
films, the calendar was released on Sunday by a group of travel guides from the
city.
The calendar has been planned and created by
Sudipta Chanda, who earlier conceptualised several other genres of calendars.(uni)
