Chhattisgarh excels for the third consecutive year in the world’s biggest cleanliness competition

Chhattisgarh achieves a new milestone, makes it to the top five states of the country for ‘inclusive development

Raipur (the states. news) On the 75th anniversary of independence, Chhattisgarh will be awarded in the category of cleanest states of India by President Ram Nath Kovind in the Swachh Amrit Mahotsav organized under the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 20 November 2021. Chhattisgarh has once again won world’s biggest cleanliness competition organized by the Government of India. Earlier in the year 2019 and 2020 also, Chhattisgarh has been a leading state in terms of cleanliness. On behalf of the Government of India, Union Minister Shri Hardeep Singh Puri has invited Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel and Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahariya to New Delhi to receive the award.
 Swachh Sarvekshan is organized every year among all the cities and states of the country by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India. In this survey, urban cleanliness is assessed under various parameters.  Along with assessing door-to-door garbage collection, scientific disposal of waste, open defecation free city, garbage free city etc. through third party, the feedback of citizens is also included in survey. On this basis, by releasing the ranking of states and cities, the best performing states and cities are rewarded.

The State of Chhattisgarh has been informed by the Government of India that this year, Chhattisgarh has again displayed its best in the field of cleanliness while maintaining its status as the cleanest state in the country. Chhattisgarh will not only be awarded as a state, but its 61 cities will also be rewarded for their excellent performance.  Chhattisgarh will be the state whose highest number of bodies will be rewarded.
 Chhattisgarh is the only state in the country where, according to the principles of Narva, Garwa, Ghurva and Bari, more than 9000 Swachhata Didis collect 1600 tonnes of wet and dry waste from house to house and scientifically dispose the waste. Apart from this, Chhattisgarh has been declared as the first ODF plus state of the country by the Government of India.
 Congratulating the people of the state for this important achievement, the Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has given the credit of this success to the conscious people of the state and the hard work of the dedicated sanitation workers and officers here. Urban Administration and Development Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahariya has also congratulated all the officers and employees, while appreciating the efforts made by the people of the state for this success. He has said that together we will keep Chhattisgarh as the leading state in cleanliness.  The Secretary, Urban Administration and Development, Mrs. Alarmelmangai D has also expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel ji and Departmental Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahariya on behalf of the department and said that same performance will be repeated in future also.(For Hindi News :
