Chhattisgarhi litterateurs and linguists honored
Raipur (The States. news)Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, while addressing the ceremony to honor Chhattisgarhi litterateurs and linguists on the occasion of Chhattisgarhi Rajbhasha Diwas at his residence office here today, said that Chhattisgarhi language and culture is our pride and identity. The desire to preserve this pride and identity was behind the creation of Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister said that in the last three years, the art, culture and language of Chhattisgarh is being promoted continuously, Chhattisgarhi litterateurs and linguists have an important contribution in this endeavour. On this occasion, the Chief Minister honored 19 litterateurs and linguists of Chhattisgarhi Rajbhasha by presenting them Raj Gamchha and certificate. Culture Minister Shri Amarjit Bhagat presided over the award ceremony.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel said that even after the formation of the state, the work that should have been done to preserve the Chhattisgarhi language and culture was not done. Chhattisgarhi did become the official language, but the hesitation about speaking and writing Chhattisgarhi did not go away. The situation has changed in the last three years, now Chhattisgarhi is being spoken from the Secretariat to big establishments and public programs. In the year 2019, Arpa-pairi ke dhar… became our state song. Now teaching in Chhattisgarhi and local dialects has started in schools.
