1.67 lakh people presently staying in 11940 quarantine centers
Raipur, (thestates.news) Across the state, 21 thousand 183 quarantine centers have been developed for migrant labourers returning to Chhattisgarh from various parts of the country. Presently, one lakh 67 thousand people are staying in 11 thousand 940 centers.
Nearly 4.5 lakh labourers, who had returned from different states, have completed their 14-day quarantine period and now they are back to home. As a precautionary measure, they have been advised to stay in home quarantine for 10 more days.
Quarantine centers established in villages are being conducted by District Administration, with active participation of gram panchayats, janpad panchayats and district panchayats.
Quarantine centers in grampanchayats are well-equipped will all kinds of basic facilities including accomodation, food, bio-toilets, separate washrooms for men and women, safe drinking water, lights and fans etc. On Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel’s instructions, entertainment facilities such as televisions and radios have also been made available in quaranine centers. Health condition of people in quarantine centers is being regularly monitored.
Medical treatment and medicines is being provided to people in need. Samples of the people with symptoms of infection are being collected and being sent immediately for testing.
Panchayat and Rural Deveopment Minister TS Singhdeo is regularly monitoring the arrangements to ensure smooth operation of quarantine centers in villages. On his instructions, any problem or shortcoming reported is being immediately rectified.
Mr. Singhdeo has directed Health Department to regularly monitor health conditions of people in quarantine centers and immediately collect samples of people with symptoms and send it for testing. On Mr. Singhdeo’s instructions, Panchayat and Rural Development Department is providing MNREGA job cards to migrant labourers and employment as per their skills.
Proper hygiene is being maintained quarantine centers and sessions of yoga and meditation is being conducted to improve immunity of people in quarantine centers. Women are being provided sanitary pads for menstrual hygiene. Strict compliance to Biomedical Waste Management Rule-2016 is being ensured. Local administration has given instructions to keep one room safe for isolation in every center.
Arrangements in quarantine centers is being made with Disaster Relief Fund sanctioned by Revenue and Disaster Management Department and amount sanctioned to gram panchayats under 14th Finance Comission. (#thestates.news) (#mediasaheb.com)
