NMDC won two environmental awards

New Delhi (the states. news) National Mineral Development Corporation Limited (NMDC), a CPSE (Central Public Sector Undertaking) under the Ministry of Steel, has won the Gold Award in the Environment Sustainability category. Kumaraswamy Iron Ore Mine has won the Platinum Award in the Environment Management category. NMDC is the largest iron ore production company in the country. The event was organized by the Sustainable Development Foundation (a unit of Ek Kaam Desh Ke Naam) and these awards were presented at the 10th conference held in Dehradun. Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh, Governor of Uttarakhand was the chief guest of its inauguration ceremony.

NMDC has been selected for the awards on the basis of its contribution to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and environmental management initiatives in its production projects. On behalf of NMDC, CGM RP M Jaipal Reddy and CGM, Donimalai Complex Sanjeev Sahi received the awards from Dr. Harak Singh Rawat, Minister of Forest, Power, Labour, Environment, Government of Uttarakhand as the chief guest of the closing ceremony. Shri Reddy also presented a paper on “Environmental Management during COVID-19”, which was highly appreciated by the delegates and the organisers. (For Hindi News : mediasaheb.com)
