Sale of illegal items on Amazon still continues:- 48 kg marijuana was recovered by Vishakhapatnam police in a new operation

Raipur (the states. news)  CAIT  National Vice President Amar Parwani, chairman Magelal Maloo  , Amar Gidwani State President Jitendra Doshi ,  States Working President Vikram Singh Deo, Parmanand Jain , Vashu Makhija, state General secretary Suriender singh , State Working General secretary Bharat Jain, State Treasure Ajay Agrawal and state Midia Prabhari Sanjay Choubey informed that Even, after being caught of selling over 20 Kgs of Marijuana by Bhind Police in state of Madhya Pradesh and sale of banned Chemicals used in making the bomb for Pulwama terror attack, Amazon illegality continues with one another case of seizing of marijuana by Vishakhapatnam Police at in Andhra Pradesh on getting a tip from Bhind police,  In which  48 Kgs of Marijuana (Ganja) has been recovered, a banned drug from the Amazon’s partner and filed an FIR on 20.11.2021 under the NDPS Act 1985. It is learnt that two Amazon delivery boy have also been arrested by Vishakhapatnam police. Further, MP police has also recovered another lot of 17 Kgs of Marijuana from Amazon and its partners for which FIR has been registered at Mehgoan Police Station in Madhya Pradesh under NDPS Act-1985 and a person has been arrested. The CAIT has demanded Visakhapatnam police to register a case under section 38 of NDPS Act as was done by Bhind police. 

CAIT National  Vice  President Mr. Amar Parwani  & State President  Mr. Jitendra Doshi terming Amazon as a “ Ganja Company” demanded the Govt that keeping in view of the scale of illegality being done by Amazon, the Government should immediately suspend Amazon’s operations in India and arrest Amazon officials and also register a case of treason against Amazon. 

Mr. Parwani  & Mr.  Doshi  urged Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Home Minister Shri Amit Shah for their immediate direct intervention in the matter. It has also urged Commerce Minister Shri Piyush Goyal to immediately release e-commerce rules, e-commerce policy and new press note replacing Press Note no 2 of the FDI policy so that  conduct of e-commerce companies in India is regulated. 

Mr. Parwani  & Mr. Doshi  has urged the Union Government to conduct an intensive and thorough probe into business model of big e-commerce players including Amazon to ensure that no sale of prohibited items or anti- nation activities are conducted on e-commerce portals and liability should be fixed on marketplace entities involved in the sale of prohibited items directly or indirectly.

Mr. Parwani  & Mr. Doshi said that these illegal activities being conducted on Amazon e commerce platform reflects the hollowness of e commerce business in India in absence of any specific rules or law, which is a sorry state of administrative system in India. They said that not only the role of Central Government in under question but even the utter silence kept by all political parties on this sensational issue also comes under question . It is highly regretted that no one has taken the issue seriously inspite of the fact that CAIT and other organisations have made serious complaints. They also said where are the proponents of e commerce business who were loud in giving benefits to these companies . Why they are silent on this critical issue.
