2 gold mines in found in Maha: Eknath Shinde

Mumbai (thestates.news): Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that two gold mines have been found in Chandrapur and Sindhudurg districts of Maharashtra. Shinde said that the central officials have informed him about this and if this gold comes out from these two gold blocks, then it will be a big achievement for the state. Shinde also expressed confidence that there is a lot of potential in the mining sector in the state, the country’s biggest steel project can be started in a remote area like Gadchiroli.

Shinde, while addressing the program organised at Hotel Taj in Mumbai, said that Chandrapur district of Vidarbha has a large number of coal mines. Apart from this, research done ten years ago revealed that the underground part of Gondpipari Tehsil has precious platinum, gold and rare metals like Ruthenium, Radium, and Iridium. This was revealed in a survey conducted by scientists of the Geological Survey of India in these tehsils between 2007 and 2010, but no further action could be taken on it. The Chief Minister said that by starting a mining research institute in the state, the problems facing this business would be removed and the revenue of the state would be increased. (HS)
