Pune (thestates.news) : The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at MIT Art, Design and Technology University, Vishwarajbaug, Pune, at the premises of the Manet Building. The celebrations commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony by Lieutenant General R. K. Kushwaha (Retd.), Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) awardee and former Director General of Ordnance Services (DGOS).
The programme was followed by vibrant cultural performances, where students presented patriotic songs and dances, captivating the audience and creating a spirit of national pride.
The occasion was graced by Executive President and Pro-Chancellor Prof.Dr.Mangesh Karad, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rajesh S., Provost Dr. Sayali Gankar, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr. Mohit Dubey, Dr. Ramchandra Pujeri, Dr. Nachiket Thakur, Registrar Dr. Mahesh Chopde, Principal of Manet Capt. Prerit Mishra, Director of Student Welfare Dr. Suraj Bhoyar, along with other dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, Lt. Gen. Kushwaha stated that India truly represents unity in diversity, reflected through its languages, cultures, religions and generations. He said that the same diversity was visible at MIT ADT University. He urged students to remember that there is no substitute for hard work, and emphasized that success and failure are two sides of the same coin. Continuous efforts without being discouraged by failure inevitably lead to success, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Karad said that Republic Day is an opportunity to remember and pay tribute to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation. He highlighted India’s remarkable progress across multiple sectors in the past year and appealed to citizens to responsibly exercise their democratic rights and actively contribute to the nation’s journey towards development.
The programmer’s introduction, anchoring and vote of thanks were presented by the cadets of the Maharashtra Naval Education and Training Academy (MANET). Students from MIT CBSE School and the University enthralled the audience with energetic patriotic dance performances.
