Raipur (thestates.news) | National Pharmacy Week acknowledges the invaluable contributions pharmacists and technicians make to patient care in hospitals, outpatient clinics, and other healthcare settings. The 63rd National Pharmacy Week (NPW) 2024 at Kalinga University wrapped up with a meaningful session on the vital role of pharmacists in healthcare. Held from November 17-23, the week-long celebration, themed “Think Health, Think Pharmacy,” included engaging activities, creative competitions, and insightful discussions.
A Free Eye Check-up camp was also organized in collaboration with City Eye+ Care Hospital & Retina Care, Raipur. Dr. Manish Kumar Markande (Pharmacist), Dr. Shaharyar Khan, Mrs. Sakshi Sharma (Optometrist), Miss. Saheena Khan (Optum) was the resource person for the eye check-up camp. The eye check-up camp was attended by about 118 Kalinga University students and staff members. Along with the eye check-up camp, the day featured an entertaining debate competition in which over 45 students participated enthusiastically. The subjects for debate competition were:
1. Robotics in Dispensing Medicines
2 .Telepharmacy/E-Pharmacy/Online Pharmacy
3. Self-medication
The event intends to recognize and promote the invaluable role of pharmacists in healthcare delivery by fostering awareness, education, and collaboration among healthcare professionals, patients, and communities.
Through the various activities, students not only gained a deeper understanding of the theme but also celebrated the profession of pharmacy. The event fostered a sense of pride in the role of pharmacists in meeting global health needs and emphasized their contribution toward building healthier communities worldwide.
The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Sandip Prasad Tiwari (Principal) Faculty of Pharmacy and was coordinated by Dr. Indu Lata Kanwar, Mr. Pranjul Shrivastava, Dr. Sandeep Kumar Mishra, and Ms. Khushboo Gupta. The organizing committee members was Mr. Mrutyunjaya Bhanja, Mr. Ayushman Roy, Mr. Smruti Ranjan Dash, Mr. Naimish Nanda, Ms. Monika Vishwakarma, Ms. Rashmi Shina, Dr. Rupali Bharti Sao, Ms. Saloni Saw and Ms. Rashmi Pandey.
