Pune (thestates.news): In a significant move to strengthen India’s research and innovation ecosystem, MIT Art, Design and Technology University (MIT-ADT), Pune, and Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur, have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement sets the stage for collaborative research projects, student and faculty exchange, and the establishment of a joint innovation framework.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. N. P. Padhé, Director of MNIT Jaipur & Director, IIIT Kota, emphasized the value of problem-solving in research: “For researchers, challenges are opportunities. Some of the world’s most impactful innovations have stemmed from solving real-world problems. Today, talent is not limited to premier institutions – researchers from all across India are addressing complex issues and creating meaningful solutions. Partnerships like this one are vital for India’s growth.”
The MoU signing ceremony witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including Prof. Dr. Lava Bhargava (Dean of Research & Consultancy, MNIT), Prof. Dr. Mangesh T. Karad (Executive President, MIT-ADT), Prof. Dr. Rajesh S. (Vice-Chancellor), Dr. Mohit Dubey (Pro Vice-Chancellor), Dr. Ramchandra Pujeri (Pro Vice-Chancellor), Dr. Mahesh Chopde (Registrar), Dr. Virendra Bhojwani (Director of Research), and Dr. Suraj Bhoyar (Director of Student Affairs).
Echoing the same spirit, Prof. Dr. Lava Bhargava added “With the evolving research landscape, it’s time we reimagine our R&D frameworks. Sponsored research, particularly in domains like VLSI, IoT, and cyber-physical systems, will define India’s self-reliant future. MIT-ADT has created a fertile ground for such convergence.”
Prof. Dr. Rajesh S., Vice Chancellor, MIT-ADT University, expressed that the MoU is a step towards “converting academic capital into national assets through research that speaks to the needs of the hour.”
A Vision for Collaborative Progress
Highlighting the broader impact of the partnership, Prof. Dr. Mangesh T. Karad stated, “This collaboration goes beyond a formal agreement—it is a collective commitment to building a knowledge-driven future for India. By working together, we can address pressing societal challenges through innovation and academic excellence.”
The event commenced with a peace prayer and ceremonial lamp lighting. Dr. Suraj Bhoyar delivered the welcome address, and the event concluded with the national anthem. Special efforts for organizing the program were led by Dr. Pratibha Jagtap.
Launch of MIT-INSPIRE Research Centre
Marking a milestone in MIT-ADT’s commitment to innovation, the newly launched MIT-INSPIRE (MIT-Institute for Sponsored & Innovative Research) was unveiled during the event. Conceptualized by Prof. Dr. Mangesh Karad and guided by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rajesh S., this research center will serve as a platform for cutting-edge, government-aligned innovation under the “Viksit Bharat @2047” national vision.
