Focus on land records reform, digital surveys, and speedy disposal of revenue court cases
Raipur (thestates.news) | Union Secretary of the Department of Land Resources, Shri Manoj Joshi, met Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai at the Assembly premises in Raipur on Monday. The meeting centres around strengthening land record systems, integrating technological innovations in land surveys, and expediting the resolution of pending cases in revenue courts. State Revenue Minister Shri Tankram Verma was also present at the meeting.
CM Sai reiterated the state government’s commitment to updating and improving land revenue records. “The more streamlined our land records, the faster and more efficiently revenue cases can be resolved,” the CM said. He assured full support to the Centre’s initiatives for modernising land records and emphasised the importance of cooperative efforts to make the system more transparent, effective, and citizen-friendly.
The CM further noted that the Centre’s technology-driven innovations in land management were helping bring speed, accuracy, and transparency to the system, benefiting both farmers and the general public. He instructed state revenue officials to ensure prompt and effective implementation of all necessary measures in this direction.
Union Secretary Shri Manoj Joshi praised Chhattisgarh’s progress in land records management and acknowledged the state government’s cooperation in ongoing reforms. He said earlier land surveys, conducted through traditional methods, were time-consuming, but the adoption of modern technology has made the process faster, more precise, and reliable.
He added that the Central Government is undertaking special efforts to revamp the land records maintenance system, providing both financial and technical support to states. Joshi highlighted that discrepancies often arise during property transactions due to outdated maps, but digital surveys would ensure updated and verified cadastral maps for every individual. “This will help eliminate irregularities and support planned urban expansion,” he said.
Also present at the meeting were Principal Secretary to the CM Shri Subodh Kumar Singh, Joint Secretary to the Government of India Shri Kunal Satyarthi, Revenue Secretary Shri Avinash Champawat, and Director of Land Records Shri Vineet Nandanwar, along with other senior officials.
