Raipur (thestates.news) | As part of the nationwide campaign ‘Swachhta Hi Seva – Swachhotsav 2025’, NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation) Lara organized a grand Sanitation Workers’ Felicitation Ceremony on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Kelo Bhavan in Maitri Nagar Township. On this occasion, sanitation workers—described as the true warriors of cleanliness and public health—were specially honored for their tireless service.
Chief General Manager (Project) of NTPC Lara, Mr. Ravi Shankar, graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest. President of the Prerita Mahila Samiti Mrs. Anuradha Sharma, and In-charge and Vice-President of Bal Bhavan Mrs. Archana Shankar, attended as distinguished guests. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Shankar hailed the sanitation workers as flag bearers of the Swachh Bharat Mission, emphasizing that the vision of a clean and healthy society would remain incomplete without their relentless efforts and dedication. Mrs. Sharma, in her remarks, highlighted their vital role in making the environment clean, beautiful, and livable.
During the ceremony, 150 sanitation workers were felicitated with sarees, T-shirts, and reflective jackets. The program also featured a community cleanliness drive at the local weekly market under the Swachhta Lakshya Ekai initiative, a collective pledge by employees reaffirming their commitment to cleanliness, and a street play aimed at spreading awareness about hygiene and clean living.
Through this initiative, NTPC Lara once again reinforced the message that cleanliness is not merely a government program but a people’s movement, where every section of society shares equal responsibility and active participation.(S-PIB)
