Raipur (thestates.news) |The Sakti district administration initiated an immediate response following a major boiler explosion at the Vedanta plant in Singhitarai village on Tuesday.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has been in continuous contact with Sakti Collector Shri  Amrit Vikas Topno and Superintendent of Police Shri Prafull Thakur, issuing necessary directions regarding the incident and treatment of the injured. 

Health Shri Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal is also reviewing the situation and coordinating with the district administration. Soon after receiving information about the incident, the Collector, SP, and administrative teams reached the site and began rescue operations. The injured were shifted on priority to Fortis Hospital, Medical College, and Apex Hospital in Raigarh. Critically injured persons were referred to Kalda Hospital in Raipur for advanced treatment. The site has been barricaded and security arrangements have been put in place.

Collector Shri Topno said that as per the Chief Minister’s directions, all efforts are being made to ensure the best possible treatment for the injured. The process of identifying the deceased and contacting their families is underway. Arrangements have been made to send the bodies to their native places by ambulance after post-mortem, along with immediate financial assistance.

It has also been decided that injured and affected workers will continue to receive wages during their recovery period, without attendance requirements. The Collector said compensation was finalised following late-night discussions. Orders have been issued for a magisterial inquiry, and the investigation team will soon inspect the site. SDRF teams are also engaged in rescue operations.
