1.10 lakh labourers get employment as 1521 factories resume works
Raipur (thestates.news) On Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s initiative, till date 5 lakh 34 thousand migrant workers and other people have safely returned to Chhattisgarh vida shramik special trains, buses and other modes. This includes one lakh 50 thousand labourers that have returned from 103 shramik special trains. Migrant labourers have thanked Chief Minister for facilitating their safe return to home state. These labourers were kept in quarantine as per Health Department guidelines and have also been provided employment under MNREGA. As on June 25, 29 lakh 35 thousand labourers in the state have been provided employment under MNREGA. Besides, Labour Department has reopened 1521 factories in the state, providing employment to one lakh 10 thousand labourers.
It is noteworthy that because of the lockdown for prevention of covid-19, lakh of labourers and people of the state were stranded in various parts of the state. State Government made effective strategy to bring back these labourers via shramik special trains and buses. Officials have been appointed to ensure safe return of people to Chhattisgarh. Labour Minister Dr Shivkumar Daharia informed that State Government has spent Rs 4 crore 65 lakh on railway boards and buses through Building and other Construction Workers Welfare Board to facilitate safe return of labourers from other states.
