Supreme Court refuses to hear plea seeking ban on film ‘Thank God’

New Delhi,(thestates.news)| The Supreme Court has refused to expeditiously hear a plea against Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra and Rakulpreet starrer ‘Thank God’, which is slated for October 25 release. The court is likely to hear this petition on October 31 or November 1.

The petition alleges that Lord Chitragupta is shown wrongly. The petition has been filed by an organisation named Shree Chitragupta Welfare Trust. The petition stated that Lord Chitragupta has been insulted in this film and would hurt the sentiments of crores of Kayasthas around the world who worship Chitragupta. The petition stated that the release of the film may affect the peace and harmony of the country and may lead to anarchy. The petition has sought to stop the film from releasing in theaters as well as on OTT.(HS)
