Chief Minister Shri Baghel attended a programme organized to mark the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti
Raipur (thestates.news)| Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday attended a programme organized at Khalsa School in Raipur to mark the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion he greeted everyone on the auspicious occasion of the 553rd Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. “Guru Nanak Ji gave the message that the master of the entire universe is one, and all are his servants. Sikhism believes in ‘Seva-Bhav’ or a sense of service for others”, he said. In this programme, he bowed his head in front of Guru Granth Sahib. Besides, the Sikh society honored the Chief Minister by presenting him with a shawl and a ‘kirpan’.
He added saying that not just people belonging to the Sikh community in the country and the world, but people from other communities as well also visit the Gurdwara on this auspicious day to offer prayers and seek the blessings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He said that the Sikh community has always extended a helping hand to people in need in difficult times. They are known for their selfless service and the best example of this is during the Covid-19 pandemic times. They offered ‘langar’ to all the people in need besides providing them with other necessary stuff including medicines and oxygen cylinders.
