New Delhi, (thestates.news) : Aam Aadmi Party is heading to become a national party. The party is likley to get over 12 percent votes and 5 seats. AAP needs 6% votes and 2 seats in Gujarat to become a national party. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia on Thursday said that the Aam Aadmi Party will become a national party with the votes of Gujarat. Sisodia tweeted that for the first time politics related to education and health is making an identity in the country and congratulated the citizens for the same.
It is necessary to get state-level recognition in four states for a party to become a national party. A party needs 2 seats and 6 per cent of the vote to gain party status at the state-level. The Aam Aadmi Party is currently running the government in two states Delhi and Punjab. It has won two seats and secured 6.8 per cent votes in Goa. If the Gujarat results turn in AAP’s favour today, it is going to get the status of a state party in Gujarat as well, after which the Aam Aadmi Party will become a national party.(HS)
