Agriculture Production Commissioner Smt. Shahla Nigar Inspects Paddy Procurement Centres

“Farmers’ convenience remains top priority,” says Smt. Nigar

Raipur (thestates.news) | Agriculture Production Commissioner and Secretary Smt. Shahla Nigar conducted a detailed inspection of paddy procurement centres in Bemetara district, covering Kathiya, Bemetara Krishi Upaj Mandi, Kanteli and Khilora.

She reviewed seating arrangements, drinking water, shade, toilets, and safety facilities, directing officials to ensure uninterrupted access to basic amenities. Farmers shared that this year’s procurement process in centres is more transparent and convenient. Smt. Nigar checked weighing machines, paddy stacking, and gunny bag availability, instructing staff to maintain accuracy and prevent shortages during peak procurement.

She also personally evaluated the Token Tuhar Hath digital system by logging in at the centre office to review server speed, OTP verification, token generation and data accuracy. She instructed officials to resolve any technical issues immediately on-site.

Emphasising transparency, Smt. Nigar said that attending to farmers as per their token schedule is the administration’s top priority. She instructed committees to ensure that farmers can sell their paddy smoothly according to their allotted token time. She directed that receipts for the weighed quantity and payable amounts be issued promptly.

Smt. Nigar assessed daily procurement progress, farmer turnout, gunny bag stocks and payment status, reiterating that the state government is committed to a smooth and secure procurement process. She assured that any required improvements would be implemented promptly.

District Collector Shri Ranbir Sharma accompanied her during the visit, stressing a “zero-complaint policy” with clear instructions for efficient crowd management, prompt payments and queue-free services in  all procurement centres.
