Mumbai (Thestates.news)| Sony Pictures Networks India has unveiled the second brand film for its upcoming marquee property, Wheel of Fortune, featuring Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, as the broadcaster continues to build anticipation around the Indian edition of the globally celebrated game show. Continuing the tone established by the first campaign, the new film once again taps into Akshay Kumar’s trademark humour and natural comic timing. Built around situational comedy, the film underlines the actor’s mass appeal while delivering light-hearted, family-friendly entertainment.
The creative concept has been helmed by filmmaker Vikas Bahl, who conceptualised, directed, and produced the brand films under his production house, Good Co. Explaining the approach, Bahl said the objective was to introduce the show to Indian audiences while preserving the playful spirit that defines Wheel of Fortune worldwide.
He noted that with Akshay Kumar as the face of the show, the campaign could lean seamlessly into witty wordplay and moments where a small twist in language changes everything.
The second brand film builds on the momentum generated by the first campaign, which introduced the show’s core thought, “Ab matter karega harr ek akshar, jab ghumega jaadu ka chakkar.” Together, the two films establish a cohesive narrative centred on anticipation, playfulness, and entertainment.
A global television phenomenon, Wheel of Fortune has been recognised by Variety magazine as the most-watched entertainment show on American television, cited by Guinness World Records as the world’s most popular TV game show, and honoured with a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show.
