Bank Employees, Officers join National General Strike ; 28 lakh chqs worth Rs 21,500 cr could not be cleared

Hyderabad, ( thestates.news ) Bank Employees and Officers across the country on Wednesday joined the National General Strike, called by Central Trade Unions along with various Independent Federations and Unions in different sectors to oppose Central Government’s ‘Anti-Worker Labour Polices’ and against ‘Anti-People Banking Reforms’.
The Central Trade Unions—INTUC, AITUC, HMS, CITU, AIUTUC, TUCC, SEWA, AICCTU, LPF and UTUC have called the strike on important demands like Control prices, Create more jobs for the unemployed youth, Guarantee right to job and right to wage, Ensure job security, stop outsourcing permanent jobs, Do not adversely amend Labour Laws, Do not curtail trade union rights, Do not weaken social security schemes, Ensure minimum wage of Rs. 21,000., Pension and Bonus for all, Scrap New Pension Scheme, Do not privatise public sector, Do not privatise or merge Banks, Increase interest rate on Deposits and Recover bad loans of Banks.
