Dhaka, (thestates.news) Hailing the International Court of Justice’s (ICJ) recent order for
provisional measures to protect Rohingyas from alleged genocide in Rakhine
state of Myanmar, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Friday thanked the
Gambian government for filing the case against Myanmar.
‘We congratulate the Gambia over the order of the International Court of
Justice. We thank them as the order was given due to their initiative’, BNP
secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said.
He said that ICJ has directed Myanmar to take steps to prevent genocide against
Rohingyas. ‘The trial of the case filed by The Gambia against Myanmar will
continue. We thank The Gambia as it filed the case with the ICJ’, he said.uni
