Chhattisgarh Government to provide input subsidy of Rs 10 thousand per acre on farming of crops other than paddy

  • Input subsidy of Rs 9000 per acre to be provided for paddy in Kharif season 2020-21, and every year from 2021-22, input subsidy to be provided on all major kharif crops including paddy

Raipur (the states. news) Government of Chhattisgarh has decided to provide input subsidy of Rs.10,000 per acre to the farmers who utilize the paddy cultivation area for farming of other identified kharif crops, in place of paddy, from upcoming Kharif season 2021-22. This will encourage production of crops other than paddy in the state. Chhattisgarh Government has decided to provide input subsidy of Rs 9000 per acre per year for paddy in Kharif season 2020-21 and on all major Kharif crops including paddy from 2021-22. Besides, Government has fixed the support price of Kodo at Rs. 3 thousand per quintal. Super compost fertilizer prepared in Gothan will be made available to the farmers at the minimum price of Rs 6 per kg.

If the farmers, who have sold paddy at the support price in year 2020-21, do farming of kodo-kutki, sugarcane, tur, maize, soybean, pulses, oilseeds, aromatic paddy, other fortified paddy crops or plantations in place of paddy, then they would be provided Rs 10000 per acre as input subsidy instead of Rs 9 thousand per acre.

         Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam, Food Minister Mr. Amarjit Bhagat were present in the meeting held Chief Minister’s residence office today. Besides, Advisor to the Chief Minister Mr. Pradeep Sharma, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Subrata Sahu, Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. M. Geeta, Food Secretary Dr. Kamalpreet Singh, Finance Secretary Mrs. Alarmel Mangai D, Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Siddharth Komal Pardeshi, Secretary Agriculture Mr. Amrit Khalko, Revenue Secretary Ms. Rita Shandilya were also present.
