Raipur Municipal Corporation bags first position in Urban Municipal Corporation category.

Raipur (thestates.news) Chhattisgarh bagged three National Water Awards across multiple categories at the 6th National Water Awards for its notable work in water conservation. The state also secured the second prize for Best State in the Water Conservation and Public Participation category, while the Raipur Municipal Corporation claimed first place nationally in the Urban Municipal Corporation category. In addition, Balod, Rajnandgaon, Raipur, Mahasamund, Balodabazar, Gariaband, Bilaspur, and Raigarh districts were recognized with Water Conservation and Public Participation Awards in various Eastern Zone categories.

President Smt. Droupadi Murmu presented the awards at the ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, in the presence of Union Jal Shakti Minister Shri C.R. Patil.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai congratulated all Chhattisgarh awardees, describing the achievement as the outcome of sustained efforts to transform water conservation into a mass movement and improve resource management across the state.
