“Overseas Chhattisgarhi community are cultural ambassadors giving global recognition to the state’s heritage,” said Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai

Raipur (thestates.news) | Chhattisgarh’s vibrant cultural heritage took center stage in the United States as the Indian Consulate in San Francisco celebrated the state’s Foundation Day with grandeur. The event showcased the state’s rich traditions, folk arts, and craftsmanship, leaving an indelible impression on the audience.

The North America Chhattisgarh Association (NACHA) Bay Area Chapter played a noteworthy role in the festivities, setting up a dedicated Chhattisgarh Pavilion that featured distinctive products, handicrafts, folk art, and traditional jewelry from the state. Through this creative display, the group highlighted Chhattisgarh’s artistic diversity and craftsmanship, drawing wide appreciation from guests and dignitaries in attendance.

The main attraction of the evening was a mesmerizing performance of Chhattisgarhi folk dance, which captivated members of the Indian diaspora and representatives from other nations alike. Dressed in traditional attire, the performers not only entertained but also vividly brought to life the spirit of Chhattisgarh’s living folk culture.

Members of NACHA emphasized that their mission is to promote the culture, language, and folk traditions of Chhattisgarh across the world. They said that overseas Chhattisgarhis remain deeply connected to their roots and are committed to strengthening the state’s global identity. The event, they noted, offered a powerful emotional connection to their homeland.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai congratulated all members of the NACHA Bay Area Chapter, calling their efforts “an inspiring step toward positioning Chhattisgarh’s glorious traditions on the global stage.” He said, “Our overseas Chhattisgarhi brothers and sisters are the cultural ambassadors of the state. While staying connected to their roots, they are upholding the identity, culture, and values of Chhattisgarh across the world.”
