Mr. Baghel appeals MPs, MLAs, Mayor, Urban Body and Panchayat Representatives to create Manlnutrition-Free Chhattisgarh

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has written letter to public
representatives asking for their active support during National Nutrition Month
(Poshan Maah) starting from September 1. He has appealed all the MPs, MLAs,
Mayor, Urban Body and Panchayat representatives of the state to contribute
towards realizing the vision of ‘Malnutrition Free Chhattisgarh’.
Praising the active contribution of public representatives, Mr. Baghel stated
in the letter that MLAs have always extended their consistent support for
eradication of malnutrition and anemia in children of the state. In previous
years, everyone has contributed towards successfully organizing of ‘Poshan
Maah’. Chief Minister stated that this year as well, he expects active support,
cooperation and participation of everyone for organizing National Nutrition
Month 2020 (Rashtriy Poshan Maah).
Mr. Baghel said that malnutrition and anemia in children is a serious problem.
To ensure significant reduction in malnutrition level, Poshan Abhiyan is being
conducted from year 2018. Every year, National Nutrition Month is organized as
a public movement for creating awareness, inspiring behavioural change, and
hold dialogue about importance of nutrition. In Chhattisgarh as well,
Rashtriy Poshan Maah is being organized from September 1, 2020 to September 30,
2020 this year. Because of the circumstances due to global pandemic, this year
Rashtriy Poshan Maah is also being organized as a digital public movement along
with the other mediums. For this, video conferencing technology, social media,
mass media, print media are being extensively used.
