‘Rahchuli Jhula’, Gedi, and decorated bullock cart at the Chief Minister’s residence will be the centre of attraction on Hareli Tihar
Chief Minister urges the people of the state to plant a tree on ‘Hareli Tihar’ and express gratitude towards their mothers and Mother Earth
Raipur (thestates.news) The Chief Minister’s residence has been transformed into a vibrant village scene to celebrate ‘Hareli Tihar’. The premises resemble a ‘Madai Mela’, adorned with traditional decorations. The entire area is filled with festive spirit, featuring ‘Rahchuli Jhula’, Gedi, and beautifully decorated bullock carts. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai will perform traditional pooja on the occasion of Hareli Tihar, August 4. This festival celebrated at the beginning of the agricultural season, is a time to express gratitude towards Mother Earth. In line with this sentiment, the Chief Minister will distribute modern agricultural equipment to farmers following the rituals.
While times change, Chhattisgarh proudly maintains its traditions. Even in the era of modern amusements, the people of Chhattisgarh remember the tradition of ‘Rahchuli Jhula’, which connects them to their rural roots and ancestors. On this auspicious occasion, guests will enjoy the Rahchuli and Gedi at the Chief Minister’s residence. Before the advent of concrete roads, when rural paths turned muddy during monsoons, Gedi was the safest means to cross the muck. Using Gedi during Hareli Tihar also symbolises the enthusiasm for the rainy season.
