CM Baghel extends warm wishes for Rajim Maghi Punni Mela to the people of the state

Raipur  (The States. news) Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has extended warm wishes for Rajim Maghi Punni Mela and Shivrinarayan Mela to the people of the state. These traditional fairs will be commencing from from 16 February. Mr. Baghel has said that Rajim Maghi Punni Mela is a symbol of faith in Chhattisgarh, which reflects the folk art culture of the state. These fairs are being organized for centuries at the holy confluence point (Triveni) of Mahanadi, Parri and Sondhur rivers in Rajim, popularly known as Prayagraj of Chhattisgarh. Large number of people, not only from various parts of Chhattisgarh, but also from adjoining states come all the way to attend these fairs  with reverence. 

Under the State Government’s efforts to preserve and promote the glorious cultural traditions of Chhattisgarh, Rajim Maghi Punni Mela is organized in its ancient original form. Mr. Baghel said that on the occasion of Magh Purnima, Shivrinarayan Mela is also organized at the holy confluence of Mahanadi, Shivnath and Jonk rivers in Shivrinarayan. Like Rajim Maghi Punni Mela, Shivrinarayan Mela is also attended by people from across the state with great reverence and faith. Mr. Baghel has also extended best wishes to people of the state for Sirpur festival, which will commence from the day of Magh Purnima in Sirpur on the banks of River Mahanadi.
