Raipur (thestates.news) | On the occasion of his 62nd birthday, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated a blood donation camp organised at his residence in the State capital, Raipur. The programme commenced with prayers offered to Lord Dhanvantari, followed by the felicitation of blood donors, whom the Chief Minister personally encouraged and honoured for their noble contribution.
To commemorate the Chief Minister’s 62nd birthday, Alpha Globe Foundation, Raipur, in association with Shivnath Blood Center, made special arrangements for 62 individuals to donate blood.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Shri Sai described blood donation as a maha daan and a true service to humanity. He observed that during accidents, childbirth and serious illnesses, timely availability of blood breathes renewed hope into the lives of patients. He further informed that donors at the camp were issued certificates, enabling them or their family members to avail free blood whenever required.
It is noteworthy that the organising institution has resolved to collect approximately 11,000 units of blood over the course of a year. To ensure that the needy receive blood free of cost, coordinated efforts will be undertaken with various blood banks. A road safety awareness campaign was also conducted on the occasion, underlining the importance of responsible conduct on the roads.
Chief Minister Shri Sai appealed to the youth to donate blood at least once a year and to strictly adhere to traffic regulations at all times to safeguard precious lives. He expressed gratitude to all blood donors, organisers, the medical team and the Health Department, and extended his best wishes for the continued success of such humanitarian initiatives.
On the occasion, Education Minister Shri Gajendra Yadav; CGMSC Chairman Shri Deepak Mhaskey; Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Chairman Shri Neelu Sharma; Secretaries to the Chief Minister Shri Rahul Bhagat, Shri P. Dayanand and Dr Basavaraju S, along with senior officials, public representatives, Director of Alpha Globe Foundation, Raipur, Dr Poonam Agrawal, representatives of the institution, and the blood donors were present.
