Raipur (thestates.news) | Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today inaugurated the grand and much-anticipated ZORA Mall in the capital city of Raipur. Marking the occasion with traditional rituals, Shri Sai performed puja, seeking blessings from Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, and prayed for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of all.
During the event, Chief Minister also inaugurated a state-of-the-art cinema hall within the mall premises and viewed a video presentation highlighting the good governance initiatives of the State Government.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the day held special significance for the residents of the capital. “This new establishment will offer all essential commodities, entertainment, and services associated with a modern lifestyle—conveniently housed under one roof. It will create employment opportunities for the youth in the surrounding areas and boost economic activities in the area,” he said. Shri Sai added that in the coming days, the mall would play a key role in enriching urban lifestyles, making them more comfortable, prosperous, and convenient.
Chief Minister further highlighted that the mall has been established after a journey of nearly 12 years. He praised the operators of the establishment, acknowledging their vast experience in entrepreneurship, which he believed would greatly benefit the mall’s future. He extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the local residents and all those associated with the project.
Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Dr. Raman Singh, said that ZORA mall, which is now Chhattisgarh’s largest, has been formally inaugurated today. He recalled that around 12 to 13 years ago, work on this project began under the name ‘Treasure Island’. “After a long journey, it has now been launched in a new and modern avatar. This mall will serve as a premier destination for shopping and entertainment not only for Raipur but for all residents of the state. As Raipur steadily establishes its identity as a developed capital city of India, this mall will certainly contribute to that image,” he said.
The inauguration ceremony was also addressed by Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao, who extended his best wishes for the new venture.
The event was graced by Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, Revenue Minister Shri Tankram Verma, MLAs Shri Amar Agrawal, Shri Anuj Sharma, and Shri Motilal Sahu, CSIDC Chairman Shri Rajeev Agrawal, CMDC Chairman Shri Saurabh Singh, RDA Chairman Shri Nandkumar Sahu, BCCI Treasurer Shri Prabhtej Singh Bhatia, and the mall’s operator Shri Vijay Jhawar.
