Raipur (thestates.news) | Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai met Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah today at the Parliament House and held discussions on a wide range of issues, including the state’s holistic development, anti-Maoist strategy, and upcoming key events.
During the meeting, CM Shri Sai briefed Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah on the achievements of the state’s anti-Maoist operations and future roadmap. He highlighted that the state has witnessed remarkable success in the crackdown against Maoist activities over the past one and a half years. Since December 2023, a total of 445 Maoists have been neutralized in 33 major encounters, 1,554 arrested, and 1,588 Maoists have surrendered.
Chief Minister Shri Sai underlined that under the state’s Integrated Development and Security policy, the government is aiming for complete eradication of Maoist influence. He informed that major efforts are underway to expand roads, education, and healthcare services in affected areas, leading to not only a decline in Maoist dominance but also a renewed sense of trust among local communities towards the administration.
Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah appreciated the Chhattisgarh government’s intensified efforts to eliminate Maoism and described the achievements as historic. He assured full support from the Central Government in all future endeavours towards restoring peace and development in the region.
The leaders also discussed preparations for the Amrit Rajat Mahotsav 2025, which will mark 25 years since the formation of Chhattisgarh. CM Shri Sai informed that the event is being planned as a grand and memorable celebration, showcasing the state’s rich cultural heritage, social harmony, and economic progress to the world.
On this occasion, CM Shri Sai also extended his gratitude to Shri Amit Shah for his continued guidance and cooperation in matters related to the development and security of Bastar region.
