Cong leaders’ statements seditious: Sambit Patra

Bhubaneswar,(thestates.news) | BJP MP Sambit Patra on Monday alleged that Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his cabinet minister RB Timmapur were misleading Indians by making statements that appeared to sympathise with terrorists, and demanded that their visas be cancelled.

Speaking to reporters here, Patra said, “It is not just Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah; his minister RB Timmapur, too, has claimed that the terrorists did not open fire based on religion. By making such statements, they are encouraging sympathy towards terrorists and mocking the grief of the bereaved families.”

Patra accused Congress leaders of attempting to break the morale of the Indian people and the armed forces at a time when the nation was united in grief. “The entire world and India are grieving. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the revenge for this attack will be unimaginable for Pakistan. But the Congress has shown its true nature,” he said.

He further alleged, “Siddaramaiah says that Pakistan should not be attacked. Why are you sympathising with terrorists and Pakistan? This statement is seditious.”

The BJP leader demanded that the Congress expel Siddaramaiah and Timmapur, but added that “the Congress will not do so because this is the true character of the party.”

Referring to past incidents, Patra said, “Rahul Gandhi once demanded proof of the surgical strikes. Today, the statements of Rahul Gandhi, Siddaramaiah, and Timmapur are being broadcast on Pakistani television, where they are being portrayed as sympathisers of Pakistan. Their visas should also be cancelled.”

Coming down heavily on Congress leader Robert Vadra, Patra alleged that Vadra rushed to defend Pakistan even before the pyres of the victims had cooled down, attempting to blame India for the terror attack and exonerate Pakistan.(S-UNI)
