Conditions for fishermen improve after Agricultural status given to Fisheries

Zero percent loan facility given to fishermen
Raipur(thestates.news) “Ever since our government was formed, expeditious work has been done for the economic empowerment of every section of the society, whether it is a farmer or a laborer or a fiaherman. Numerous works have been done for the betterment of the fishermen class. We have created Fisheries policy which is very conducive for people involved in fish farming and continous works are being done for the betterment of the ecosystem of fisheries. We have given agriculture status to fisheries, due to which now fishermen are availing zero percent loan facility. Conditions of the fishermen of the state has improved as they have started getting similar facilities like farmers. With this, the standard of living for fishermen is improving day by day, fishermen of the state are moving towards economic growth rapidly, and will contribute towards a better future for fisheries in India.” Said Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel while addressing the Mahasammelan of Dhivar Samaj organized in the auditorium of the Agricultural University.
After the completion of the land allotment process to the fishermen community, he also talked about helping them build a well-equipped building for the society. The Chief Minister also administered the oath for the newly elected office bearers of the fishermen society.
The Chief Minister said that the average fish productivity of our state has reached 4000 metric tonnes per hectare. Progressive fish farmers have started producing 8000 to 10,000 metric tonnes per hectare by rearing improved species. State government run fisheries policies and the nature and environment of Chhattisgarh is completely conducive for fish farming. He further said that a favourable environment for fisheries is available in the state due to the geographical position and fisheries policies of our state, so there is a lot of potential for fisheries business. Moreover, Continous effort is being made by the government to increase fish production.
