COVID-19: Expands testing facilities to fight pandemic

New Delhi, (thestates.news) With COVID-19 disabling the world, India too is bearing the brunt and battling the invisible enemy with all the resources at its disposal which mainly include “Testing” . According to Indian Council of Medical Research, total 46,66,386 samples have been tested across the country.
According to the agency, 1,42,069 samples have been tested in the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the country’s SARS-COV-2 tally surpassed Spain’s count with its cases shooting up to 2,46,628 and became the fifth-worst coronavirus-hit country in the world after 9,971 confirmed cases were reported till Sunday morning.
Active cases of the pandemic have also stepped up to 1,20,406, the health ministry data said.
#India has quickly climbed two spots in the global list over the past two days. According to the health ministry update, 284 people have lost their lives to the virus since Saturday, taking the total number of deaths to 6,929.
Meanwhile, the active number of SARS-COV-2 cases stands at 1,20,406 with 1,19,292 patients having recovered.
The data revealed that 4,464 patients were treated and discharged since Saturday.
Meanwhile, the worst COVID hit state in the country Maharashtra has recorded 82,968 infections with 2,969 fatalities. As many as 124 new COVID-19 cases, including a nurse from the civic-run KEM Hospital and senior Congress Corporator, were detected in this city on Saturday, informed Thane Municipal Corporation(TMC) Dy Commissioner on Sunday.
He stated that the administration has heaved a sigh of relief as no fatalities were reported on Saturday. So far, 113 people from the city have succumbed to the contagion while the tally of confirmed cases stands at 3,919.
He further said a total of 2,056 patients, out of the above-mentioned count, have been cured, improving the recovery rate to 52.46 per cent in Thane, which has been witnessing a surge in the pandemic cases.
The district’s tally of the infections has swelled to 10,882 after 463 new cases were found on Saturday while the death count increased to 352, with ten new deaths.
Meanwhile, the distant Palghar district has recorded 1,207 cases, including 39 fatalities, apprised report.
Maharashtra’s Marathwada region that comprises eight districts have recorded 2,944 COVID-19 positive cases and 119 fatalities till past 24 hrs, district authorities said on Sunday.
So far 1,824 people have been cured with 1,001 patients undergoing treatment, they added.

#Aurangabad — a divisional headquarter is one of the worst affected districts in the region with 2,014 confirmed cases and 99 deaths recorded till Sunday morning.
Recording the second-highest number, Tamil Nadu’s tally stands at 30,152, while 251 patients have lost their lives to the pandemic.
Whereas Delhi’s cases have surged to 27,654 with its death toll mounting to 761 and 10,664 recoveries till Sunday morning.
With 54 additional cases, #Punjab’s Covid-19 tally has spiked to 2,515 on Sunday. In total 2,092 patients have fully recovered and 51 succumbed to the virus in the state.
#Gujarat, after adding up 498 cases in the past 24 hours is now home to 19,592 confirmed cases. As per the data, 13,316 people have recovered in the state, whereas 1,219 could not survive the pandemic.
#Uttar Pradesh is housing 9,733 cases, while the death toll in the northern state stands at 257. It reported 433 new cases of novel coronavirus, pushing the state total to 10,536 while seven people lost their lives taking the death toll to 275.

State Principal Secretary Health Amit Mohan Prasad said there are 4076 active patients of corona in the state while 6185 have recovered so far.
On Sunday there are 4175 patients in the isolation beds of the Covid hospitals while 7763 people are in the institutional quarantine.

With the detection of 48 fresh cases of COVID-19, the tally surged to 10,385 in #Rajasthan on Sunday. The death toll from Coronavirus in the state has also increased to 234 with three more fatalities in last 24 hours.
According to the report received by the Medical Department at 1000 hrs on Sunday, the highest number of infections were recorded in #Jaipur with 24 cases, raising the tally to 2212.
Similarly, Jhunjhunu and Kota have reported 3-3 cases each, Chittorgarh 2, Alwar, Banswara, Bharatpur, Bhilwar, Dausa, Jalore, Sawaimadhopur, Sirohi, Tonk and Jhalawar have registered one case each.
Due to this, the number of cases of corona is Jhunjhunu stands at 161 and 509 in Kota, 327 in Jhalawar, 83 in Alwar, Banswara 86, Bharatpur 613, Bhilwara 167, Dausa 65, Jalore 169, Sawaimadhopur 40, Sirohi 196 and Tonk 170..
So far in the state, Jodhpur has registered 2188 cases, Udaipur 586, Pali 587, Dungarpur 374, Ajmer 363, Sikar 273, Rajsamand 161, Bikaner 110, Churu 152, Barmer 106, Jaisalmer 74, Dhaulpur 66, Hanumangarh 30, Karauli 29, Baran 58, Pratapgarh 14, Ganganagar seven and four cases in Bundi.
As many as 4,94,480 samples have been taken for corona testing in the state, out of which 4,78,366 reports were found negative while reports of 5729 samples is till awaited, however, 7606 patients have been recovered so far and 7050 of them have been discharged from hospitals.
Till Sunday in the union territory of #Jammu and #Kashmir, 40 people lost their lives due to COVID-19 and about 3500 have been infected by it.
As many as 32,361 beds have been made available in 683 quarantine centers operated for COVID-19 in #Himachal Pradesh, a government spokesman said here. Himachal Pradesh can be made Corona Free State, therefore it is necessary to keep a close vigil on every person coming to the state.

#Odisha registers an all time high recovery of 178 covid patients in a day taking the total recovery in the state to 1894, accounting for 66 per cent of the total covid cases in the state. Health and Family Welfare department sources said while the state reported 75 positive cases and one death during the last 24 hours, 178 covid patients from as many as 18 districts were cured and being discharged.
As on today, out of 176098 samples tested so far,2856 have reported covid positive from all the 30 districts of the state out of which 1894 have been cured.The active cases stand at 951 while nine covid death reported from three districts( four each from Khordha and Ganjam and one from Cuttack).
The COVID 19 tally in Assam continued to increase as 92 new cases took the total count to 2565.
The total number of Covid 19 positive cases has increased to 172 in #Manipur.
The rapid spike in #Coronavirus positive cases continued unabated in #Andhra Pradesh as 199 fresh cases were reported since the last 24 hours taking the total cases to 4,659 in the state.
According to a health bulletin here today, 17,695 swab samples of persons were tested of which 199 people were tested positive. Out of the 199 new positive cases, 69 persons belonged to other States.
Of the 199 fresh positive cases, 31 cases reported in Nellore district, 25 in Krishna district, 17 in Visakhapatnam district, 14 each in Kadapa and Anantapur districts, 10 in Kurnool district, 6 each in West Godavari and Vizianagaram districts, 3 in East Godavari district, two in Guntur district and one each in Srikakulam and Chittoor districts.
