Development works in Health and Nutrition Sectors to gain impetus with the support and cooperation of UNICEF

UNICEF to Provide Technical Support in Manendragarh – Chirmiri – Bharatpur

Raipur (thestates.news) The Department of Health and Family Welfare has invited UNICEF to support and enhance the development works of the health and nutrition sectors in Surguja Division. Under this collaboration, UNICEF will primarily provide technical support in the newly formed district of Manendragarh – Chirmiri – Bharatpur.

This biennial program, spanning from July 2024 to July 2026, is the result of Health Minister and Manendragarh MLA, Mr. Shyam Bihari Jaiswal’s tireless efforts. Under his guidance, the extensive implementation of this project will be undertaken.

UNICEF will not only offer technical support in the health and nutrition sectors in the newly constituted district of Manendragarh – Chirmiri – Bharatpur but will also work on other components affecting health and nutrition, such as education, sanitation, child protection, and disaster management. All the departments at district-level will provide required financial and administrative support.

Through this project, the health and nutrition initiatives in the Surguja Division, particularly in the district of Manendragarh – Chirmiri – Bharatpur, will gain significant momentum. Representing UNICEF at the meeting were the Acting State Head, Mr. William Hanlon, Health Specialist Dr. Gajendra Singh, and Nutrition Specialist Dr. Aparna Deshpande.
