New Delhi, (thestates.news) Focussing on policy reforms for attracting foreign investment and to
fast-track efforts towards ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’, Union Minister Nirmala
Sithraman on Saturday announced structural reforms in coal, mining, defence,
air space management, power, social infrastructure, space and atomic energy
sectors.
Addressing a press conference along with her deputy Anurag Thakur, Ms
Sitharaman said,’Structural reforms are the basis of today’s announcements.
These will be in horizons that will contribute to growth and employment
possibilities.’
These are the eight sectors where structural reforms are being brought in for
new horizons of growth, unleashing new investment, boosting production and
creating jobs, she announced in her fourth tranche of self-reliant India.
She said,’Empowered Group of Secretaries has been formed to fast-track
infrastructure investment, ranking states for investment attractiveness,
project development cells have been formed, champion sectors being promoted.’
She maintained that, ‘Efforts taken give us confidence that Make in India, an
initiative to change mindset, bring in new ways of doing business, make sure
India becomes attractive on its strength, is bearing fruit. This is a
foundation for Aatmanirbhar Bharat.’
Scheme will be implemented in states through Challenge mode for Industrial
Cluster Upgradation of common infrastructure facilities and connectivity, she
