New Delhi, (thestates.news) | Taking a dig at the BJP for the decline in Gross Domestic product (GDP) growth rate in the second quarter to 4.5 per cent, the lowest in 26 quarters, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday said the latest figures expose the false claims made by the BJP during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
In a series of tweets, Ms Gandhi shared a picture with title ‘lowest GDP in 26 quarters’. ‘Promise after promise made by you(BJO)…giving 2 crore jobs every year, double the MSP of crops, bringing Ache din, Make in India, taking the Indian economy to a figure of five trillion Dollars… Will any promise be accounted for? Today GDP growth is 4.5% which shows that all promises are false,” she said in a tweet. “The BJP has ruined India–which is aspiring to grow–and its economy due to its failures,” she added.
Latest GDP figures released on Friday showed that India’s GDP growth has been recorded at 4.5 per cent for Quarter two of Fiscal Year 2019-2020.(UNI)
