Govt busy in trying to infiltrate homes and institutions : Mehbooba Mufti

Srinagar, (Thestates.news) | Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday hit out at the union government over the spurt in terror attacks in Jammu region and alleged that the government was busy only in trying to infiltrate homes and institutions of people of Kashmir.
Mufti was speaking at the party’s 25th foundation day function in Srinagar.

“I want to tell the government that foreign militants who infiltrate into Jammu, kill our people and then leave. What are you doing? You are busy and trying to infiltrate our homes, our schools, our institutions, our universities. You are busy in these and the militancy has increased so much in Jammu that people are afraid to step outside. Is this your success? ” she asked.

Mumbai (Thest Mufti said the solution to the J&K issue lies in her father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s agenda. “ If you (union government) want the people not to support self-determination or not to look across , but look towards the country, you will have to follow Mufti (Sayeed) sb agenda, ” she said.
The PDP chief pitched for a joint advisory committee and opening of roads in J&K to Central Asia.
“Amit Shah says he will bring back that Kashmir (Pakistan occupied Kashmir), even as you tell us Muslims to go to Pakistan. But, I have a request for you, till the time you bring that part back. I challenge Home Minister Amit Shah to form a committee consisting of 20 representatives from each side of Kashmir across the Line of Control, who would meet twice a year to discuss pertinent issues,” she said.

She also called for the release of youth of Kashmir jailed in various prisons across the country.
“What has been achieved by imprisoning and suppressing people in Kashmir who voted in favor of their rights in the referendum? Even Waheed Para, who was jailed on terrorism charges, received 200,000 votes. The government thinks it has eliminated the PDP, but look at the turnout for this PDP foundation day—PDP is not finished, remember this,” she said.
She said Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh before 1947, was an independent state, a small country, where Hindus, Muslims, and Buddhists lived together.

“After the special status was scrapped, the people of Ladakh are crying, and the people of Jammu are beating their chests. Jammu, which was the hub of the economy, is weeping… and as for Kashmir, there’s no need to even mention it,” she said.(UNI)
