Ranchi, (thestates.news) | Hemant Soren took oath on Thursday as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand for the fourth time at a grand ceremony held at the Morhabadi Ground here in the presence of a galaxy of national political leaders. Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar administered the oath of office and secrecy to the 49-year-old Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader, who led the INDIA bloc to a spectacular win in the recent Assembly election.
Soren took the oath in Hindi.
Among those present at the swearing-in ceremony were leading lights of the INDIA bloc, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Bihar’s former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Delhi’s former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. Soren’s father and JMM founder Shibu Soren, also a former Jharkhand Chief Minister, was present. Shibu Soren’s wife and Hemant’s mother Rupi Soren also attended the function.(UNI)
