IAC chief upbeat about Maha economy getting back on track under CM Fadnavis leadership

Mumbai (Thestates.news) | National president of India Against Corruption and OBC leader, Hemant Patil, expressed on Saturday that the state’s economic train will come back on track under the leadership of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Notably, while the country’s growth rate is expected to be 6.5 percent, the state’s growth rate has been estimated to be 7.3 percent in the Economic Survey Report, he said and pointed that there is a positive atmosphere.

In 2023-24 fiscal year also, the state’s growth rate was 7.6 percent, he said and maintained that due to political stability, the possibility of an increase this year cannot be ruled out. The state’s per capita income is likely to increase. Last year, Maharashtra’s per capita income was Rs 2.78 lakh crore and this year, it is estimated that it will go up to Rs 3.09 lakh crores, said IAC president.

Furthermore, the government is inclined to complete development works that were stalled during the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) period at a fast pace, giving rise to an atmosphere of enthusiasm in agriculture, industry and services sectors, he said. Talking about the state government’s commitment to get farmers out of natural crisis, he claimed that the government has approved Rs 1,470 crore to compensate for the losses suffered by farmers due to unseasonal rains and hailstorms, as per the Economic Survey.

Talking about the challenge of reducing the mountain of debt on the state, Patil appealed to the Fadnavis government to devise appropriate measures to reduce this debt. He has also appealed the state government not to cut the financial provision for development works and public utility schemes while repaying the loan amount. (UNI)
