Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai met ISRO Chairman Dr. V. Narayanan in New Delhi today, where they held extensive discussions on utilizing space technology for agriculture, water resource management, environmental conservation, and disaster mitigation. The discussions emphasized satellite-based surveys, geo-mapping, and data-driven decision-making to enhance governance and boost economic development.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai underscored the transformative potential of space technology in agriculture, environmental management, and disaster preparedness. ISRO’s Expert Team to Conduct Ground-Level Study in Chhattisgarh
As part of this initiative, a high-level team of ISRO experts will soon visit Chhattisgarh to conduct a comprehensive study leveraging satellite imagery, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and advanced data analytics. The study will focus on soil health assessment to enhance agricultural productivity, water resource mapping for sustainable management of rivers and groundwater, early warning systems for floods, droughts, and climate anomalies, smart governance strategies powered by space technology.
This initiative aims to bridge the gap between scientific advancements and on-ground implementation, ensuring that space-based solutions directly benefit citizens, policymakers, and industries.
Chhattisgarh to Leverage Space Technology for Multi-Sectoral Growth
Under ISRO’s guidance, Chhattisgarh will witness a paradigm shift in governance and resource management, with a special focus on precision farming, crop monitoring, and climate-adaptive strategies using satellite data, enhancing capabilities for flood, drought, and wildfire management, smart city development and efficient transportation models through spatial analytics, realtime satellite monitoring to curb deforestation and illegal land encroachments.
