Raipur (thestates.news) | The Faculty of Law, Kalinga University, in collaboration with Surana & Surana International Attorneys, successfully hosted the third edition of its prestigious Judex 3.0 – Surana & Surana National Human Rights Law Moot Court Competition, 2025. The competition marked a significant milestone in the university’s commitment to promoting legal research and advocacy on human rights issues.

The preliminary oral rounds were conducted online in July 2025, where 20 top-tier law schools from across the country participated, showcasing exceptional legal acumen. After rigorous rounds of intense debates/arguments, 8 teams including Integrated Law Course, Faculty of Law, Delhi University, Maharashtra National Law University, Symbiosis Law School Pune, Amity Law School Noida, Pendekanti Law College, Hyderabad among others qualified for the on-campus rounds, held at Kalinga University’s lush Raipur campus.
The grand Valedictory Ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Rt. Justice Anil Shukla, Judge, Chhattisgarh High Court, who delivered an illuminating address on the intersection of human rights and artificial intelligence, urging budding lawyers to adapt to technological shifts while upholding constitutional values.
Ms. Delina Khongdup, Member, National Commission for Women, also addressed the gathering, highlighting the role of women in building a progressive India and stressing the importance of effective Internal Committees (ICs) in ensuring workplace justice and equality.
In a nail-biting final round, Madhusudan Law College, Cuttack emerged as the champions, bagging the winner’s trophy along with a cash prize of ₹21,000. The School of Excellence, Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai, finished as runners-up, securing a cash prize of ₹11,000 for their commendable performance.
The occasion was further enriched by the gracious presence of Kalinga University’s Vice-Chancellor Dr. R. Shridhar and Mr. Preetam Surana, Partner and Head, Surana and Surana Academic Initiatives who commended the participants and inspired the audience with their words of motivation and wisdom.
The success of Judex 3.0 was driven by the dedicated leadership of the Dean Dr. Azimkhan Pathan, and an efficient organizing team comprising Ms. Saloni Tyagi, Ms. Darshi Sharma, and Ms. Paluck Sharma, alongside an enthusiastic contingent of student organizers, who ensured the event delivered both excellence and justice in spirit.
