Raipur, (thestates.news)| Cyber security has become a top priority in today’s digital world. As cyber threats continue to evolve rapidly, it is essential for individuals and organizations alike to understand the security landscape and learn how to mitigate these risks effectively.

The IEEE Kalinga University Student Branch, in collaboration with the IEEE Education
Society MP Section, successfully organized “Cybersecurity Extravaganza 2025” on
September 27, 2025, at Kalinga University, Naya Raipur. The event, designed exclusively for
school students of Classes 8 to 12, attracted enthusiastic participation of over 200 students
from different schools.
Dr. Vijayalaxmi Biradar, Chair of the EA IEEE MP Section, delivered an insightful address, raising students’ awareness about the risks posed by various cyber threats in today’s digital age.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Nishith Agrawal, DSP, Cyber Cell Raipur, delivered an inspiring
keynote on the significance of cybersecurity in today’s digital era. He captivated the students
by sharing real-life cyber fraud cases that had occurred in nearby areas, helping them
understand the practical dangers lurking online. Mr. Agrawal further guided the students on
how to protect themselves from cybercrimes, how to identify different cyber threats, and the
immediate actions one should take if trapped in such situations. He also educated students
about official cybercrime websites where complaints about cyber fraud can be filed and
shared important helpline numbers for immediate assistance. Emphasizing community
responsibility, he urged students to spread awareness of digital safety among their family
members, friends, and others in society.
Dr. Harendra Pal Singh Chauhan, Principal of Adarsh International School, shared his
insights on the event’s impact, highlighting how beneficial it was for the students in
enhancing their understanding of cybersecurity.
The program not only enhanced the students’ technical skills but also encouraged them to
explore career opportunities in cybersecurity and become responsible digital citizens. The
event aimed to raise awareness about the growing challenges posed by cyber threats and to
equip students with practical knowledge on digital safety, ethical hacking basics, and
responsible online behavior.
The event concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, leaving participants inspired to
adopt safer digital habits and contribute towards building a cyber-aware community.
