Kalinga University organized Two-Day International Conference on “Frontiersin Pharmaceutical and Allied Sciences: Translating Innovation into Impact for Sustainable and Equitable Healthcare”

Raipur (thestates.news) | Kalinga University’s Faculty of Pharmacy, successfully organized Two-Day
International Conference on “Frontiers in Pharmaceutical and Allied Sciences: Translating Innovation into Impact for Sustainable and Equitable Healthcare” on 17th and 18th March 2026 at the University Campus in Naya Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The conference was organized by the Faculty of Pharmacy, Kalinga University, in collaboration with the Natural Products Research and Development Centre (NPRDC), Faculty of Medicine, University of Ruhuna, under the guidance of Dr. Sandip Prasad Tiwari and Dr. Ashok Kumar.

The event was successfully conducted with the continuous support and encouragement from the university leadership, including Dr. R. Shridhar (Vice-Chancellor), Dr. Byju John (Director General), Dr. Rahul Mishra (Dean Academic Affairs & Controller of Examinations), Dr. Vijayalaxmi Biradar (Director, IQAC), Mr. Pankaj Tiwari (Director, CCRC), and Dr. Lincy Roy (Deputy Registrar &
Head HR). The International Conference was inaugurated with the ceremonial lamp lighting by
the Chief Guest, Mr. B. R. Sahu, Additional Drug Controller & Regulatory Officer, State Food & Drug Administration, Naya Raipur, along with Kalinga University’s Vice-Chancellor and Registrar. During his inaugural address, the Chief Guest emphasized the importance of research, innovation, and regulatory excellence in strengthening pharmaceutical sciences and ensuring safe and effective healthcare delivery.

The Special Guest, Prof. (Dr.) Manju Singh, Institute of Pharmacy, Pt. Ravishankar
Shukla University, Raipur, highlighted emerging trends such as AI-driven precision
medicine, gene therapy, lab-on-chip technology, and smart drug delivery systems,
emphasizing their role in improving patient care and global healthcare accessibility.
The Vice-Chancellor, Dr. R. Shridhar, shared valuable insights on the past, present,
and future perspectives of pharmaceutical sciences, encouraging innovation and
research-driven development. The conference proceedings were also formally
unveiled during the inaugural session.

The conference was meticulously organized through the dedicated efforts of the
organizing committee and faculty members.
This prestigious international conference brought together academicians,
researchers, industry professionals, healthcare experts, and students from across the
globe to discuss recent advancements, challenges, and innovations in pharmaceutical
and allied sciences. The conference provided a dynamic platform for knowledge

Conference Highlights –
Day 1 of the conference featured keynote lectures and scientific sessions by
distinguished experts from academia and industry, including Dr. Nisha Jha,
Professor, Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, KIST Medical
College, Nepal; Prof. Anoja Attanayake, Head, Natural Products Research and
Development Centre, University of Ruhuna; Dr. Vinod Tiwari, Assistant Professor,
Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology, IIT (BHU), Varanasi;
and Prof. (Dr.) Alakh Niranjan Sahu, Professor, Department
of Pharmaceutical Sciences, IIT (BHU), Varanasi, who shared their insights on
emerging trends in clinical pharmacology, natural product research, and
pharmaceutical technologies.
Dr. Sonia Gera, Imperial College London, UK, delivered an insightful session on
“Nanotechnology for Bone Therapeutics,” highlighting advanced therapeutic
approaches in bone-related disorders. The post-lunch session included an online
presentation by Dr. Anshuman Dixit on “Bioinformatics in Pharmaceutical
Research,” emphasizing the growing role of computational tools and data-driven
approaches in modern drug discovery and development.
Day 2 continued with a series of technical sessions delivered by eminent speakers.
Prof. (Dr.) Nahlah Elkudssiah Ismail, Professor & Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy,
AIMST University, Malaysia, delivered a session on “Smart Pharmacy: How AI is
Revolutionizing Patient Care.” Dr. Subrat Kumar Bhattamisra discussed “The
Link Between Insulin Signalling and Brain Pathologies in Diabetes Mellitus.” Dr.
Priyanka Dhar, Founder & CEO, PVigileye, Vietnam, presented on “Basics of
Pharmacovigilance.” Dr. Sisinthy Sreenivas Patro delivered a session on “Electro
spun Nanofibers: An Emerging Technology for Advanced Drug Delivery and Wound
Healing,” while Dr. Amira Selim, Senior Patient Safety Specialist, AstraZeneca,

concluded the scientific sessions with her talk on “The Next Era of Patient Safety:
Towards a Sustainable and Patient-Cantered Pharmacovigilance System.”
The conference witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 550 delegates,
including students, researchers, academicians, and industry professionals from
across India and abroad. Participants actively presented their research through oral,
poster, and e-poster sessions, fostering a vibrant platform for scientific exchange
and innovation.

The Valedictory Ceremony of the International Conference was conducted with great
enthusiasm and was graced by distinguished dignitaries. Dr. Byju John, Director
General, Kalinga University, distributed certificates and awards to the winners of the
Poster, Oral, and E-Poster presentation sessions, appreciating their outstanding
research contributions and active participation.
The dignitaries lauded the efforts of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Kalinga University, for
successfully organizing a well-coordinated and impactful international conference.
They emphasized that such academic events play a crucial role in promoting
research excellence, innovation, and global collaboration in pharmaceutical and
allied sciences.
The Two-Day International Conference concluded on a highly successful note with a
formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Ashok Kumar, who expressed sincere
gratitude to the Chief Guest, Special Guest, keynote speakers, delegates,
participants, and organizing committee members for their valuable support and
contribution in making the event a grand success.
