Kalinga University students actively participate in Aapda Mitra training

Raipur (thestates.news) | Students of Kalinga University enthusiastically participated in the “Aapda Mitra 7-Day Residential Training Program” organized by the Disaster Management Department, District Raipur (Chhattisgarh). The training was conducted from February 02 to February 08, 2026, at the Central Training Institute, Nagar Sena, Raipur.
A total of 27 students from Kalinga University successfully completed the training under the guidance of Assistant Professor and NSS Programme Officer Dr. Harsha Sharma. During the program, students were provided practical training in disaster management, search and rescue operations, first aid, fire safety, and mock drills.
During the certificate distribution ceremony marking the conclusion of the training, Mr. Upendra Kindo, Deputy Collector (Sub-Divisional Magistrate), Raipur, awarded certificates to the students. Mr. Ajit Kumar Todekar, Assistant, Disaster Management Department, was also present. The officials appreciated the students for their participation and discipline.
Dr. Harsha Sharma stated that such training programs strengthen students’ sense of service, leadership, and social responsibility during times of disaster. On this occasion, Mr. R. K. Sahu (SDRF), Master Trainer, addressed the students and emphasized that it is essential to immediately inform the appropriate trainers and officials during any emergency situation, allowing for timely and effective support to be provided.
