Wrote The MP has written that the Nagarnar Steel Plant at Bastar is being set up by the Navratna Public Sector Enterprise NMDC Limited under the Ministry of Steel, Government of India, at a cost of more than about 20 thousand crores. This project is not even completed yet, but the Central Government has decided to privatize this steel plant in Bastar.
It is very unfortunate that the proposed public sector steel plant is being privatized in the tribal region of Chhattisgarh. This has deeply hurt the hopes and aspirations of millions of tribals. The tribal communities are agitating.
The MP has urged the government that the Central Government should reconsider the decision to privatize the Nagarnar Steel Plant and maintain it as a public sector enterprise.
