Raipur (thestates.news) The Government of India has officially declared August 23rd as “National Space Day” to honour the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, which achieved a safe and soft landing of the Vikram Lander at the ‘Shiv Shakti’ point and deployed the Pragyaan Rover on the lunar surface on August 23, 2023.
National Space Day recognizes significant achievements in space exploration and highlights advancements in space technology. The day is dedicated to inspiring future generations by generating interest in space science and technology among students and providing them with role models. To mark National Space Day, the Faculty of Science at Kalinga University, Raipur organized an interactive session featuring a special guest lecture by Dr. Laxmi Kant Chaware,
Assistant Professor at the Centre of Basic Sciences, Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur. Dr. Sohini Bhattacharya, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Science gave a welcome speech and welcomed all the dignitaries present.
Dr. Chaware, a distinguished scholar in the field of space sciences, served as both the guest lecturer and resource person for the occasion. His lecture covered various aspects of space
exploration, the latest developments in space technology, and the potential of future space
missions. His insights captivated the audience, which included students, faculty members,
and staff of Kalinga University.
The celebration of National Space Day was a part of the university’s ongoing efforts to foster
a deep interest in the sciences among its students, particularly in the fields of chemistry and
physics. The event provided a platform for students to engage with contemporary scientific
issues and advancements, further inspiring their academic and research pursuits.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Chaware emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary

The event concluded with an interactive session where students and faculty members posed
