CM holds joint review meeting with officials of Surajpur, Koriya, and Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur districts
Issues instructions on drinking water supply, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and rural employment
Raipur (thestates.news) | A joint review meeting of Surajpur, Koriya, and Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur districts was held today at the District Panchayat Auditorium in Surajpur under the chairmanship of CM Vishnu Deo Sai. During the meeting, Chief Minister Shri Sai conducted a detailed review of the implementation progress of various government schemes and issued several important instructions to the administrative officials.
Chief Minister Shri Sai strictly emphasized that negligence in matters of public welfare will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Referring to complaints received during the ‘Sushasan Tihar’ (Good Governance Festival), he instructed that all dysfunctional hand pumps requiring repair must be made operational within 10 days. He directed that rising pipes should be extended and prompt repair mechanisms should be ensured to guarantee an uninterrupted supply of drinking water to rural households.
He further instructed officials to expedite the resolution of revenue cases and ensure timely distribution of ownership records under the Swamitva Yojana. Matters such as undisputed mutation, partition, demarcation, and map-based division must also be resolved at the earliest, he emphasized.
Highlighting the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) as a priority scheme of the government, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that utmost seriousness must be observed in its implementation. He asserted that any kind of negligence in executing the PMAY would not be tolerated. Shri Sai categorically stated that if a beneficiary produces a valid certificate of approval under the scheme, the transportation of sand required for construction must not be obstructed by the Department of Mines. He directed that any irregularities in PMAY execution should invite stringent action against the responsible individuals.
Addressing the issue of non-performing ‘Awas Mitras’ (housing assistants), the Chief Minister directed that prompt action must be taken against those found negligent in their duties. He also noted that the number of houses under PMAY is likely to increase in the near future, thus creating a greater demand for trained masons. To meet this need, he instructed that training in building construction and masonry must be provided to workers under the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM), enabling them to access employment opportunities while accelerating construction work.
CM Vishnu Deo Sai also underlined the need for the effective implementation of welfare schemes and ensuring their reach to the grassroots. He reiterated that the government’s priority is to serve villages, the poor, and farmers, and that bringing positive change in their lives is the fundamental responsibility of the state.
