Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on
Monday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi over defence budget, saying Mr
Modi does not care for jawan and kisan (soldier and farmer) and is only
bothered about benefit of three to four of his industrialist friends.
By reduction in defence budget, the government has overlooked soldiers who
spent their youth serving the country and reduced their pensions, the Gandhi
scion added.
The Wayanad MP said, ‘Budget mein sainikon ki pension mein katauti. Na jawan,
na kisan, Modi sarkar ke liye teen chaar udyogpati mitra hi bhagwan. (Reduction
in pension of soldiers in defence budget, neither jawan nor kisan, only 3-4
industrialist friends are god for the Modi government).’
Congress General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala also attacked the Modi
government, claiming 210 farmers, agitating for the repeal of the three farm
laws, have lost their lives but the Prime Minister is adamant on not fulfilling
their demands.
He said, ‘Modi ji, you are going to be recorded as the ruthless PM in the
history of the country.
Ignoring the pain of the struggling farmer brothers and their families reflects
your fascist mentality,’ Surjewala added.
‘As many as 210 farmers have lost their lives. Leave ‘rajhat’ and follow
Rajdharma,” he said. (uni) (media saheb.com)
