The draft of the
National Education Policy (NEP), currently being reviewed by the Government,
has suggested a number of reforms, including enabling students to have freedom
to choose subjects.
According to sources on Wednesday, the draft also underlined an overhaul of the
assessment system.
Besides picking subjects based on individual interests, the sources informed
that the draft also has given a choice of ‘best of two’ by allowing students to
take the exam twice in a year.
Education experts are of the view that the ‘flexibility’ to choose subjects
will open up various combinations for students who are currently required to
choose one of the streams like science, arts or commerce.uni
