Op Sindoor still on, says Rajnath at all-party meet

New Delhi, (thestates.news)| Operation Sindoor has not ended and is ongoing, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh told a meeting of all parties, who expressed their support to the government in dealing with terrorism emanating from Pakistan. He said that it is an ongoing operation and therefore not right to give a briefing or presentation of each development.

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju while briefing the media after the all-party meeting said, “Some leaders at the meeting had sought some information about the operation. The Defence Minister clarified that the operation is ongoing, it would not be appropriate to provide a separate briefing or presentation of every development. No technical officials were called in the briefing. The purpose of the meeting was to build a broad consensus among all political parities.”

The meeting, chaired by the Defence Minister was attended by several leaders, including leaders of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and BJD’s Sasmit Patra. Rijiju said, “At a time when the country is facing a crisis, there is no place for politics. All leaders in one voice have lauded our armed forces for Operation Sindoor and have praised them for their courage and valour”.

He said, “They have all said that they will support every decision of the government and also support the armed forces in their action. Some MPs have also given suggestions”. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi said that all political parties have extended full supported to the government.

Kharge said, “Whatever they said we listened. They said that anything confidential related to defence cannot be disclosed due to national security. We all said that in this hour of crisis we are with you”. On Prime Minister Narendra Modi not being present in the meeting, Kharge said that it is his decision. Last time also he was not present. But during this hour of crisis, “we will not criticise anybody”.

Meanwhile, Asaduddin Owaisi after the meeting said, “I complimented our armed forces and the government for Operation Sindoor. I also suggested that we should start an international campaign against TRF and urge the United States of America to designate TRF as a foreign terrorist organisation in its own country. I also urged US to put Pakistan in FATF grey list”. India on the night of May 6 and 7 launched Operation Sindoor targeting nine terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
